Founded in 2013, Washburn Mediation Co. was born from a vision: to offer real, effective alternatives for families facing difficult transitions. Attorney John Paul Washburn launched the company after seeing a growing need for compassionate, solution-focused mediation in his legal practice.
Over the past 12 years, John Paul has successfully led hundreds of mediations and conciliations, helping families find common ground and move forward with confidence. In 2025, he expanded his public service by becoming a County Attorney in Kansas, while continuing to serve clients through evening and weekend mediations.
At the same time, his wife Lindsay Washburn, after a successful 17-year corporate career, became a certified mediator and joined the business full-time. With her business acumen and personal experience in co-parenting, Lindsay has helped scale the practice across Kansas—bringing a fresh, forward-thinking approach to mediation.
Together, John Paul and Lindsay have built more than a business—they’ve created a mission-driven practice that empowers families to resolve conflict, build stronger futures, and regain control of their lives.
Proud parents of three active and talented kids, the Washburns are deeply rooted in northeastern Kansas and committed to making a difference in the lives of others—both in their practice and in their community.
