With over 17 years of experience as a dedicated family law attorney and more than a decade as a skilled mediator and conciliator, John Paul Washburn has built a reputation for delivering results with compassion and integrity. In 2013, he founded Washburn Mediation Co., driven by a powerful realization: many of his clients could resolve complex co-parenting challenges more effectively through mediation.
Since then, John Paul has successfully guided hundreds of families through mediation and conciliation, empowering parents to make the best decisions for their futures—and most importantly, for their children. His approach is simple but powerful: the people closest to the situation should be the ones in control of the outcome.
In 2025, John Paul expanded his legal expertise into the realm of criminal law and was elected County Attorney in Eastern Kansas, continuing his commitment to public service and justice. Despite his busy role, he remains deeply committed to helping families and still offers mediation and conciliation services during evenings and weekends.
